By establishing a strong foundation in the form of an energy marketplace—an essential part of daily life—it brings lasting value and vitality to society as a whole. -------------【 Job Description】------------- ■ Company Overview Since its founding in 2019, the company has provided an online marketplace for energy businesses and has grown into Japan's largest trading platform, with participating corporate clients—including major electric power companies—accounting for 95% of the market share. Its Gross Transaction Value (GTV) is approaching ¥2 trillion, and it now aims to achieve a ¥100 trillion annual transaction volume in the near future. In 2024, the company raised ¥6 billion in Series B funding, with investment from both domestic and international institutional investors, including DCM Ventures, as well as nine energy trading companies spanning power, gas, and general trading sectors. It is now actively investing in expanding its development team. ■ Products 1. eSquare: Trading Platform Japan’s first full-fledged online trading platform that enables the free exchange of energy. This is a licensed business approved by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). 2. eCompass: Market Data Platform A data platform that provides all necessary information for electricity trading, including electricity and fuel market prices, and various other forms of energy-related market data. 3. eScan: Market Risk Management Tool An Energy Trading Risk Management System (ETRM) tailored to Japan’s electricity market. It visualizes business risk based on trading conditions and market data. 4. JCEX: Environmental Value Trading Marketplace An online marketplace for trading domestic environmental value and international voluntary carbon credits. It supports efforts toward climate change mitigation and achieving carbon neutrality in Japan. ■ Challenges in Backend Development ・Designing domains and architectures with a forward-looking approach to accommodate future system scalability. ・Building systems that require a high level of security, availability, and performance, as they are expected to operate on a national infrastructure level. ・Understanding the complexities of the energy domain through close communication with domain experts. ・Establishing effective management and talent development systems for a large tech organization with over 50 members. ・Enhancing technical branding and recruitment outreach. The company is looking for someone who can take a single project lead position in back-end development. In this position, you will be responsible for the architectural design of the infrastructure and code, and will lead in a wide range of areas, including domain understanding and technology selection. Upon consultation, you will be assigned to a domain that is close to the business or close to the infrastructure that is used across the board (or a balance of both). ■Responsibilities As an engineering manager, you will be responsible for driving the technical development of new products in the energy market, managing the progress of development, and managing members. Specifically: ・Technology selection from front-end to back-end ・DB design, API design, architecture design ・Development, code review ・CI/CD maintenance ・Development documentation, operational documentation maintenance ・Design system construction, component design, screen design using Figma (depending on your experience) ・Define
