【Job Description】 ## About OptQC OptQC is a deep-tech startup spun out of the University of Tokyo, founded with the mission of achieving the social implementation and commercialization of "optical quantum computers." While multiple modalities exist in the quantum computing landscape, we focus on the optical quantum approach. We are confident that this method is the most suitable for practical application and widespread adoption due to its inherent scalability and seamless integration with optical communications. Through continuous research and development, we aim to balance energy efficiency with high computing power, overcome the limits of human information processing, and contribute to a sustainable society. ## Key Responsibilities In this position, you will be responsible for CAD modeling of optical quantum computers, preparation of component drawings and documentation of assembly and specification. - Work in CAD environment to generate part or assembly models and/or specifications - Prepare mechanical component, cable harness, and assembly drawings to Industry standards - Produce and update Engineering files (eBOM and part specification) and revision change - Accompany development by designing test jigs, mock-ups, fit-for-purpose assembly tools - Accompany development by interacting directly with suppliers (e.g. quotation, missing specification, etc.) - Provide 3D models and layout for insightful evaluation of concept and ergonomics - Collaborate internally with development and research departments 【Required Qualifications】 - 3+ years of professional experience using CAD software (e.g. NX, SolidWorks, …) - Knowledge of Industry standards (JIS and ISO) and part precision tolerancing - Technical English and willingness to communicate on specific occasions - Business or Native Japanese communication 【Preferred Qualifications】 - Ability to learn about a wide variety of hardware - Proficient with CAD environment and 3D modeling software - Experience of contributing to product design with in-house development teams - Experience working with precision mechanics, ideally free space optical systems or microtechnology - Experience with Optical and Electrical components and connectors and layout specification - Hands-on experience working in cross-functional, collaborative development environments - Ability to engage in internal technical discussions in English 【Ideal Candidate Profile】 - Individuals who feel at ease in a fast-paced, flexible startup environment - Mindful designers who take ownership of the company product and independently drive feature development - Problem solvers who like to address complex technical issues efficiently and within timelines - Good communicators capable of building smooth working relationships with diverse collaborators - Tech enthusiasts with a passion for cutting-edge technology and a commitment to continuous learning - Collaborative professionals eager to create value together with diverse internal and external partners 【Salary】 8 million JPY or more (Determined based on experience and skills) 【Employment Type】 Full-time 【Hiring Process】 - Document Screening - Interview (2–3 rounds) *Includes a work presentation - Offer Meeting [Additional Information] - Interviews are generally conducted online; however, candidates will be required to visit our office at least once. - Please consult with us if this is difficult for you. - Transportation expenses will be reimbursed for candidates traveling from distant locations (subject to company regulations). - Reference checks may be requested during the selection process. - The selection process and the number of interview rounds are subject to change. 【Work Hours】 - Discretionary work system: Deemed as 8 hours per day. 【Allowances】 - Transportation allowance (Up to JPY 100,000 per month) 【Holidays & Vacations】 - Two days off a week (Saturday and Sunday) - National holidays, Year-end and New Year holidays - Annual Paid Leave (20 days granted after 6 months of employment) - Special Join-Date Leave (3 days granted upon joining; expires after 6 months) - Congratulatory and Condolence leave 【Benefits】 - Full social insurance coverage - Stock Option Program - Free Drinks & Snacks - Flu vaccination coverage 【Other Conditions】 - Probationary Period: 3 months (No change in working conditions during this period) - Measures Against Secondhand Smoke: Indoor total prohibition on smoking (Designated smoking room available in the building's shared/common area) - Scope of Changes in Duties: Business and duties assigned/specified by the Company - Scope of Changes in Work Location: Workplaces/offices specified by the Company, the employee's residence, or other locations designated/approved by the Company 【News】 - [2026.08.25 OptQC Completes JPY 7.0 Billion Series A2 Financing Round Through Private Placement](https://www.optqc.com/en/news/news/funding-series-a2) - [2026.07.21OptQC and AIST Commence Initial Operations of "MoQuren," OptQC
